Sound Extractor does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal information. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device.
Sound Extractor lets you pick a video from your photo library (or import a video file) and save its audio track as a separate audio file. You can then clean the audio up — reduce background noise, optimise the volume, apply an equalizer, trim it, or transcribe the speech in it to text. Every one of those steps runs locally on your device.
None. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and includes no third-party SDKs. We do not have a server and we never receive any data from the app.
When you choose to extract audio, the app asks your permission to access your photo library so it can read the video you select. This access is used only to read that video on your device. The app does not upload, copy, or send your photos or videos anywhere.
If a video you select is stored in iCloud rather than on your device, iOS may download it from your own iCloud account so the app can read it. This transfer is handled entirely by Apple between your device and your iCloud account; the developer is not involved and receives nothing.
If you ask the app to transcribe an extraction, it uses Apple's on-device speech recognition only. The app does not fall back to Apple's servers: if your device or language does not support local recognition, the app reports that transcription is unavailable rather than sending your audio anywhere. Transcripts are held on your device and are never transmitted by the app.
The first time you transcribe in a given language, Apple downloads a speech model to your device. That download is handled by iOS, happens before any of your audio is read, and contains none of your content. After it completes, transcription in that language works with no network connection at all.
Reduce Noise, Optimise Volume, the equalizer, and trimming all run entirely on your device. No audio is uploaded for processing, and no audio is used to train anything.
Extracted audio files remain under your control. You can play, share, or delete them at any time. They are never transmitted off the device by the app. If you choose to share a file using the iOS share sheet, it is sent only to the destination you pick.
In Settings you can choose where new extractions are saved: inside the app, in the Files app on your device, or in your iCloud Drive. If you choose iCloud Drive, iOS syncs those files through your own iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. That sync is handled entirely by Apple between your devices and your iCloud account — the developer has no server, no access to your iCloud, and receives nothing.
Sound Extractor Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment and subscription details are handled entirely by Apple; the developer never sees your payment information, and the app receives only Apple's confirmation of whether a purchase is active.
Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children.
